Was actually looking for a camp site. Found one and saw there was a bit of wind about so drove to a point where I thought it would be suitable after looking at map.
Got there and there and the wind was crossshore and to my amazement there were 2 locals already out so I quickly rigged up my 6.3. Meanwhile I left my surf board on the roof of the car unstrapped and a big gust of wind sent it flying in the air and it contacted the ground pretty hard taking a big chunk out of the back corner so im gonna have to get that fixed. I was absolutely fuming with myself but luckily i had a decent session to calm my temper down a bit. I was still really pissed of withmyself and I still am. It was a real stupid thing to do and its gonna cost me.
The wind was really marginal and I had my 6.3 as slack as possible giving it max power. There was just enough wind to get me planeing so it was just a case of blasting back and forth towards a lovely island out at sea and then gybing and attempting some fast tacking.
To top ot all off, one of the local guys offered me a place to stay for the night so I very gratefully took the offer up. Theres only 2 locals who sail at this spot and its pretty remote so they were pleased to sail with a stranger.
